Siren. A warning device that makes a frightening sound and warns many of imminent danger. Approaching death in the eyes of those who are warned, but act with the exact opposite goal – to provide information and give people time to prevent their fate. This definition has existed for about 220 years and reflects the goals of our society.
Just as the Telegrafia
“Telegrafia had the idea of creating an object that would visually represent the company. An object through which something genuine could flow and thus potentially become a symbol of the company. I believe that clipping path it is symbols that evoke ideas in us, often unconsciously, and the desire to create stories. These stories are different and, above all, individual. And it is this ability to stimulate that is what fascinates me so much about art. Such associations, such images in my head often have a reason. And they stay with us only as long as we need them.
Naturally, working with the human body is very close to me. We are all familiar with the mass of the human figure; perhaps that is why we use it to describe situations or tell entire stories. Even in the smallest details there can be hidden gestures that can provoke or raise questions and give us clues. They stimulate and put the viewer in an inevitable situation of various kinds of contact with the sculpture, painting or photograph. And they cause indignation and/or delight.
For this work
I chose stories about bird-women who, on the one hand, lured sailors with their sweet voices, and on the other, fiercely defended their island at the cost of smashing ships on the sharp edges of the reef. Their voice and sound were important for the question of existence.
History has depicted
these creatures in different ways. Their original form, however, was close to a female figure with wings and claws, or, conversely, to birds with a female face. In the case of the Siren for Telegrafia, I decided to Pišite da biste izgradili svoj portfolio work with a winged female body. She sat leisurely on a pedestal, silently closing her eyes. In her right hand she holds a cigarette, but her left wing still holds the situation firmly in check. Calm, but steady and firm.
Siren lived with me for almost
Two years, from the first impulse, sketches and adb directory drafts, to a long period of sculpting, when we locked ourselves in the studio for hours. You touch the pliable material, and gradually something appears under your hands, with which you, without even realizing it, eventually merge.
company tries to fulfill the function of protecting the population, it also needs a patron who would fulfill this function for its people. And today we have one. The Siren, a winged mythical creature, is the new totem of Telegrafia. However, we need to go back to ancient mythology for its meaning and definition, and I will leave this task to the talented author of the Siren sculpture.
