Gmail has finished rolling out support for AMP content to iOS. Dynamic emails now work in the Gmail App on both Android and iOS. Until April 2020, AMP was only supported by Android.
You no longer need to do anything to see AMP emails in your mobile inbox—dynamic emails are now enabled by default for all Gmail users, including G-Suite.
A brief excursion into the history of AMP for Email technology
In March 2019, Google launched AMP for Email. And on July 2, it became available to all Gmail users, including G-Suite.
At this stage, AMP for guatemala virtual phone numbers Email technology was supported only by Gmail and Mail.ru mailers on desktop devices.
Yahoo and AOL also plan to implement AMP support.
But on November 21, Google began rolling out support for AMP emails for mobile devices. The release of this feature for Android was complete in December 2019. However, the release of AMP for iOS was slowe down by Google, and only in April 2020, support for AMP emails on mobile devices became available to iPhone users. Now this functionality is supported by both Android and iOS.
How AMP emails display on mobile now
We tested seven major AMP components and shared our feedback and results with the Gmail team. By the way, you can too 😉 Google is open to comments. Some bugs that we found and reported to Google have already been fixe.
1. AMP-accordion
Here is the AMP template we used to test this component. You can view its code in our demo editor, and also use it for your own tests.
The accordion most effective re-engagement emails makes your emails concise and saves your customers from tedious scrolling, as you “hide” the content in the accordion sections. The customer needs to click on the name of the desired section to see its content.
No issues were found – the accordion worked correctly on iOS and Android.
2. AMP-carousel
This time we used two templates for testing:
template with preview images;
template without preview images.
You can view their codes in our demo editor, and also use them for your own tests.
Image carousels eliminate tedious scrolling and allow email marketers to display multiple banners on a single screen.

Issues found:
No issues were found – the carousel worked correctly on iOS and Android.
Previously, the arrows in the carousel on mobile devices disappeared. But Google has already fixed this problem.
3. AMP Lightbox Effect
The lightbox effect allows you to enlarge ca cell numbers individual elements of the letter. We applied it to images.
Our testing showed that the lightbox effect works well on both Android and iOS, but only if the email is short.

If you are creating a standard length promotional email , you will encounter some problems with the Lightbox effect.
Issues found: The rest of the screen becomes black.
